Oahu Pipe Coating Services
Rehabilitating drains and sewer pipes with trenchless methods like pipe coating is a non-invasive way to avoid expensive, time consuming, and destructive pipe replacement methods.
Our Oahu plumbers use a safe and practical pipe coating system for sewer and drain renovation which is used in place of pipe replacement. This is a quick and simple solution that is much more preferable to digging up pipes or relining them. The process can coat small areas or an entire piping system.
We use a high-performance pipe coating that is corrosion resistant. This is important because if corrosion sets in, it’s only a matter of time before the plumbing pipes have to be repaired or replaced.
Steve’s Plumbing Service is dedicated to environmentally friendly products and processes. The pipe coating product is made up of a unique vegetable-oil based resin that is perfect for bonding to cast iron, concrete or clay pipes, and PVC.
We offer this alternative pipe coating service to residential and commercial customers in Oahu. Since 1987, we have been the highly skilled plumbers that locals trust. If you need pipe coating, repairs, or any other plumbing services in Oahu, call us for reasonable rates and reliable service.
How We Perform Pipe Coating Service
We use specialized machinery to introduce the coating system into the plumbing drains and pipes in your home or commercial building.
First, the original pipe is prepared for coating. The pipe is cleaned very well with grinding chains and is then flushed with water and dried. We may use a degreaser if there is a buildup of fats, oils, or grease. If necessary, a grinding panel is run through the pipe to roughen the surface for resin bonding.
The resin is prepared and a resin pipe with brushes and a video camera is inserted into the pipe system. The resin is pumped into the pipe at the far end. As the resin flows, we ensure it is coating the pipes evenly with the brush.
We carefully inspect and ensure that the resin covers the pipe completely to an average thickness of 1mm. About every four hours, the process is repeated for additional coats which number depends on the size of the pipe. Large pipes require 4-5 coats.
